Direct connectivity to top ISPs from McAllen

Leading ISP carriers with global networks have recognized an opportunity in coming down to McAllen, Texas, to serve the Mexican market and leverage their growth in Telecom.

According to the most recent Dyn Global Wholesale Ranking, previously known as Renesys, the companies leading the TOP 10 are as follows: Level 3, Telia Carrier, NTT, GTT, Cogent, TATA, Verizon, Telecom Italia Sparkle, Sprint and PCCW.

The availability of direct connectivity to leading carriers in the city of McAllen, attracts important players in the Mexican side for its convenience and ease of access. As the leading provider in South Texas, MDC Data Centers provides direct connectivity to seven (7) out of the TOP 10 in Dyn’s report of A Baker’s Dozen 2015

More than 500 miles saved on Transport

The concentration of industry leading carriers in McAllen removes the necessity of Mexican carriers to contract Transport services to Dallas for pursuing telecommunication services, which brings more than 500 miles of Transport savings.

In our continuing effort to make interconnection easier for our carrier customers, MDC has built a redundant International Fiber Crossing, which connects Mexican Telco’s existing fiber assets in the northern Mexican city of Reynosa directly and effortlessly to MDC.

This border crossing further cements MDC Data Centers as the strongest colocation provider on the US-Mexico border, in terms of infrastructure reliability and connectivity solutions.

World-class Data Center infrastructure

Robust power and cooling infrastructure are always top of mind for carriers when choosing a data center. Until recently these 2N facilities could only be found in tier one cities. However, thanks to our continuous investment in MDC’s proven power and cooling strategy, this is no longer the case.

Backed up by the best technology available today and provided by companies such as Generac® and Emerson®, we are proud to be the only Data Center with 2N redundancy and 100% Uptime commitment in our premier colocation services in South Texas.

If you need more information about our infrastructure and facility specs, pay a visit to our Colocation page and download the Facility Specification brochure.

So we went over three fundamentals reasons why Mexican carriers are no longer going up to Dallas for interconnection: direct connectivity to industry leaders from McAllen, more than 500 miles in Transport savings and the peace of mind of having a reliable Data Center partner in South Texas. McAllen has an important role in the telecom industry growth and we are definitely proud to be part of it.
